FAQ — Barbary Connect & Barbary Link Questions Answered | Barbary Systems
COMPANY / FAQ

Asked often.
Answered honestly.

GETTING STARTED
How long does it take to get set up?
A simple system: about two weeks, most of which is number porting lead time. Complex multi-site builds: four to six weeks. SIM-only orders ship next day.
Do we keep our numbers?
Yes — landline and mobile. Porting is included, managed by us, and scheduled so there's no gap in service.
Is there a minimum size?
No. A two-person firm and a two-hundred-person one run the same platform; only the design differs. Most of our customers are 10–200 staff.
What does it cost?
A fixed monthly price per user (Connect) or per SIM/pool (Link), quoted after a short scoping call — because a number without a design is a guess. No setup fees on standard installs, no porting fees, ever.
Are we locked into a long contract?
Standard terms are 12 or 36 months — shorter costs slightly more, longer costs less. Exit terms, notice periods and number release are in writing before you sign.
RUNNING DAY TO DAY
What happens when broadband fails?
Calls divert to mobiles or other sites automatically, and a Barbary Link failover SIM keeps the office online through 4G/5G. Designed together, an outage becomes a non-event.
Who do we call when something breaks?
A UK support line answered by the engineering team — 30-minute response on critical faults, 24/7. Details on the support page.
Can we make changes ourselves?
Yes — call flows, users, hours, SIM caps and more from one dashboard. Or ask us; routine changes are part of the service, not billable extras.
Do Connect and Link have to be bought together?
No — plenty of customers run one without the other. They're simply better together: one bill, one dashboard, one team, and failover designed in from the start.
Is our data kept in the UK?
Call recordings and customer data are stored in UK data centres, handled under UK GDPR. Details in our privacy policy.
